The correct answer is Subjective. **(i) Preparation of phenol from cumene (Cumene process):** $$	ext{C}_6	ext{H}_5	ext{CH(CH}_3)_2 \xrightarrow{	ext{O}_2,\,	ext{air}} 	ext{C}_6	ext{H}_5	ext{C(CH}_3)_2	ext{OOH} \xrightarrow{	ext{H}^+,\,	ext{H}_2	ext{O}} 	ext{C}_6	ext{H}_5	ext{OH} + 	ext{CH}_3	ext{COCH}_3$$ Cumene (isopropylbenzene) is oxidised by air to cumene hydroperoxide, which on acid hydrolysis gives **phenol** and acetone. In mild conditions (dilute HNO$_3$, H$_2$SO$_4$) mono-nitration occurs at ortho and para positions.
