(B) Analyse the characters of William Douglas from 'Deep Water' and Mukesh from 'Lost Spring' in terms of their determination and will power in pursing their goals.

However, by virtue of his background and education, Douglas has a well-planned and systematic approach to dealing with his fears and challenges, whereas Mukesh's ability to fulfill his dreams is uncertain due to lack of resources. **Douglas:** - Displayed a resolute spirit by taking up training in swimming. - Tested himself in real water bodies: streams/lakes, rivers, etc. - Faced fear with courage and ultimately overcame the fear/phobia of water. **Mukesh:** - Despite belonging to a deprived section of society, he aspired to achieve beyond his reach. - Born in a family of bangle-makers, he dared to think of becoming a motor-mechanic. - Had the courage of conviction to defy the family norms and displayed firmness of purpose in spite of conventional approach of his family. - Ready to walk long distance to the garage / ready to face obstacles and break the shackles of tradition. (Any three points with at least one from each character for 3 marks content + 2 marks expression)
